The work consists of sound sources and spatial sound effects in a virtual environment. The orientation of the head—which follows the binaural positions of the sounds—manoeuvres the visitor through the acoustic spaces. The personal journey through the virtual space of the score creates a unique spatial sound experience. The location of these elements can also be seen on a map consisting of circles. Each circle represents either a sound source or a spatial effect.
The advantage of an acoustic space lies in its inherent immersive quality. The work therefore does not attempt to acoustically replicate architecture, but rather to create different acoustic spaces that are interconnected within an architectural framework in virtual space and whose temporal structure is determined by the movement of the recipients.
